I’m not a natural athlete. Generally speaking, a quick jog up a flight of stairs will leave me out of breath. So, when the opportunity came up to sign myself up for Macmillan Cancer Support’s Might Hike, I thought…well, why not!
Despite not being overly fit, I thought I’d give it a go anyway, as Macmillan are such a great charity. They support cancer sufferers throughout the entire process; from helping them to come to terms with the initial diagnosis, to aftercare and support after treatment. They also support families too.
It’s a charity that I hold particularly dear, as I know SO many people who’ve received help from Macmillan. People who’ve had cancer themselves. People who have lost loved ones to the disease. So yes, when the opportunity came up to support such a great charity – my husband and my response was a huge YES!
Hiking the Jurassic Coast
We’ll be doing the 22-mile hike this Saturday (right in the middle of a heatwave, eek!). So far, we’ve raised £462, which we’re so pleased with – and thank you to all the amazing folk who have donated; you rock.
We’d love to hit our target of £500 and exceed it if possible. If you’d like to donate, here’s the all-important link. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teambanksie
Thanks for your support! And for those doing the walk too… good luck!
